Joe Jaumotte is a graduate of Laurel High School 2010. He was on the newspaper staff for his high school. Joe is a Photographic Communication major at Northwest College and has learned many lessons of life while attending NWC. He is very opinionated and has never been shy to share his opinion about anything if one is brave enough to ask.

Editor-in-Chief Gigi Hoagland is an English major in journalism major’s clothing. She discovered journalism while attending Cody High School and has been hooked ever since, though she still writes and reads poetry on the side. She loves being able to tell the stories of those whose stories need to be told and is a huge supporter of the free press.
In the Trail newsroom, she is best known for her sunny attitude, baking talents and passion for journalism. She loves coffee, her cat and pet fish, polka dots and rain. As a lifelong resident of Wyoming, Hoagland is familiar with the goings on of the Big Horn Basin, as well as Northwest College itself.
Hoagland hopes to transfer from NWC in May and move to Bellingham, Wash., where she plans to attend Western Washington University. As for the rest of her life, nothing is certain. She may choose to stay in journalism or she may teach English at the high school level. However, she does know that no matter what happens, her habit of reading the news before rolling out of bed in the morning will be a lifelong routine.

Doug Robson is a journalist, radio host, and web designer. He was born in CA, but spent most of his life in southern MT. After spending a year on the Northwest Trail staff as a columnist and reporter, he rebuilt their website, and now functions as the web administrator and a weekly columnist for the Trail. He most commonly writes movie reviews, but has been known to write video game reviews, as well as the occasional random column.

Colton Stephens, from Choteau, MT, is a staff writer for the Northwest Trail writing on rodeo and other agriculture related stories. He is a sophomore at Northwest College pursuing a degree in Ag Communication.

Katrina Pasek was born in Springfield, OR and moved to Cody, WY when she was 2 years old. Writing is her passion, closely followed by reading. She is quiet but found a voice with writing. Katrina loves traveling and never tires of learning.
Katrina is a freshman working on her journalism major. During her senior year in high school, Katrina joined the newspaper class and hooked onto journalism. Her dream career is to become a trusted news reporter and travel the world.

Jessica Keller is a staff writer for the Northwest Trail in Powell, Wyoming. She is working toward an eventual law degree and is an English major.
A 2011 graduate of Torrington High School [THS] in Torrington, Wyoming, she was a staff writer for the THS publication the Blazing Sun, worked on the yearbook and competed as a member of the forensics team; she transferred both activities to her college experience. During her senior year, Jessica was the Layout Editor for the Blazing Sun and a Sergeant-at-Arms for the forensics team. She is an avid reader and most enjoys writing opinion pieces and current news stories.

Tess Finnicum grew up in Sidney, Montana. She graduated from Sidney High School as one of 100 graduates that year. In high school Tess was a staff member for the school’s yearbook “The Stagecoach” for two years. Tess is currently a student at Northwest College, majoring in Photographic Communications.

Born in Chicago and raised in the small town of Berthoud, Colorado, Steven Josephson is a graphic designer and layout artist for the Northwest Trail. Back with the Trail after taking a three-year break to serve a mission for his church, Steven first discovered his love of news and design during his freshman year of college in Providence, Rhode Island.
Since transferring to Northwest College, Steven has fulfilled a wide variety of tasks for the Trail. He is excited for the opportunity to focus on providing the Trail with excellent visual design and layouts and hopes to be able to more fully enhance the Trail’s excellent writing with solid graphics and visually appealing news pages.

Michael Salvi is a second year student at Northwest College, duel majoring in photographic communications and graphic design. He shoots all ranges of photography, but prefers fine art or skiing photography. This is his first year writing with the staff and he is looking forward to the experience and the chance to get his work published.

Ethan Rhodes was born and raised in Cody, Wyoming and participated in a variety of sports and activities and served on the Equus. He enjoys many Wyoming past times such as hunting and fishing and riding horses. Ethan will primarily be writing sports for the trail and some other sundry stories.

Travis Gruel is a trail staff writer from Fromberg, Mont. He originally attended Northwest College with intention of coaching, but is now considering Journalism. Travis is acting mostly as a sports writer, but takes on other jobs when needed.
